Brent Timmerman has 19 years of experience in both the public and private sector with facilities and capital project design, project management, and operations leadership. Starting as a facilities engineer with a major aerospace company in Winnipeg Manitoba, Brent soon after took on leadership roles of increasing responsibilities for functional and operational technical support groups. In his initial role at Manitoba Housing as the Executive Director of Asset Management, Brent was responsible for the delivery of a building revitalization budget of approximately $80-100 million per year.
In his current role as Chief Operating Officer for Manitoba Housing, Brent is responsible for over 400 staff across the province, as well as an annual operating budget of almost $200 million, and the oversight of approximately 30,000 units of social and affordable housing in Manitoba. Brent is one of the executive sponsors for the organization’s Operations Excellence / Lean program. This program, over the past 1.5 years, has started a positive transformational effect on the culture within Manitoba Housing, and has already provided numerous improvements to operational efficiency.
Brent has a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba, and is a registered Professional Engineering in Manitoba, and is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute.
