Chris Shilton is a Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager, and LEED® Accredited Professional, driven by solving problems through a combination of experience, research, collaboration, and an open mind for alternative approach.
Chris’ experience began with 10 years in the land development industry, where he managed and contributed to multidisciplinary project teams. During this time, his roles in design, contract administration, and project management have developed his diverse skill set, and exposed him to the many different aspects and stakeholders of land development projects. His adaptive learning ability allows him to draw from these experiences and apply them to demonstrate creative and comprehensive problem solving skills.
In 2010, Chris shifted his focus from land development towards the renewable energy and energy conservation industry to deliver sustainable projects that generate triple bottom line dividends. For over eight years, Chris has successfully fulfilled project management and technical engineering roles serving private, public, and aboriginal clients on hundreds of renewable energy and energy conservation projects.
Since joining CityHousing Hamilton in April 2017, Chris has implemented over 50 energy retrofits which are already significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and utility costs at CityHousing Hamilton’s properties. These projects, along with many more underway and planned in the future, are a crucial part of CityHousing Hamilton’s strategy to revitalize its portfolio and improve its financial, social, and environmental sustainability.
