Biography
Mike Pistrin has been a housing industry leader for over 20 years and leads the BC Housing Development & Asset Strategies Branch, responsible for creating new affordable, social, and supportive housing, and creating over 3,000 new units per year across the province.
Mike oversees the annual investment of nearly $2 billion of capital to ensure BC’s social and affordable housing stock is enhanced, sustained, inclusive and adaptive for the long-term.
In previous roles, he spearheaded the implementation of key real asset management metrics at BC Housing and created the Indigenous Asset Management program which shares knowledge on asset management in partnership with First Nations around the province. He also led the SRO Renewal Initiative P3 partnership that oversaw the deep renovation of 13 SRO buildings in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver and was the first project of its kind in North America.
Mike holds an Honours Degree in Urban Geography and a Masters in Business Administration.
